The community you choose to live in can make all the difference.

North Toronto is chock full of amazing neighbourhoods and properties, each with its own distinct personality.

One of the many great things about this area is how active the community is, and how many recreational centres there are to accommodate that. If you’re looking for a specialized sports experience where you can get to know your local teammates, then North Toronto’s recreation clubs are exactly what you’re looking for.

Here are just a few of the great clubs you can be a part of:

1. Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club

If you call the Cricket Club neighbourhood home, then head to the community’s namesake: the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club. This family-oriented private club provides tennis, squash, cricket, croquet, curling, and other activities for its members. A wellness centre, kids’ club, bridge club, and theatre group really rounds out this neighbourhood gem.

2. Davisville Tennis Club

In Davisville Village, you’ll find the Davisville Tennis Club, where you can play tennis on 6 fully lit courts, take lessons to sharpen your skills, attend social events all season long, and take advantage of the clubhouse facilities with refreshments, a lounge area, and a television. The Davisville Tennis Club restricts its member limit to 500 people per season, so every tennis lover has a chance to play and make the most of their time there.

3. North Toronto Tennis Club

The North Toronto Tennis Club was founded in 1912, and has provided a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for any local tennis player to join ever since. Summer camps, run robins, and tournaments for the more competitive players offer something for any level of player. For a fee of $10 per visit, non-members can play and have access to the same privileges as club members, except for the free tennis balls.

4. Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling and Croquet Club

Located in the heart of Toronto, the Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling and Croquet Club sits in the relaxing Alexander Muir Gardens Ravine area. Social events, members’ dinners, in-house tournaments, and social games are all apart of the experience at this club. Membership is open to all ages, and there are two greens to play on, opening up more time for any player to hone their skills and spend a great day outside.

5. Rosedale Golf Club

The Rosedale Golf Club was established in 1893 as a nine-hole golf course. It’s since hosted the Canadian Open (in its earlier years) and has grown to become one of Toronto’s most prestigious clubs. This exclusive club’s beautiful scenery makes it seem as though you’re far from Toronto’s downtown core, while the land’s easy walkability and varying course styles make this club one of the most sought-after destinations in the area.

6. The Granite Club

Opened in 1972, The Granite Club keeps a focus on family ties and community enrichment. Gyms, fitness studios, kids’ zones, and professional supply shops are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this club’s amenities. There’s also 12 tennis courts, 7 squash courts, 4 badminton courts, 4 pools, a skating rink, a winter golf dome, and a world-class curling facility. Camps, social events, and a school of music truly make this a top of the line club for members of any age.

7. The Badminton and Racquet Club

Located at 25 St.Clair Avenue West, The Badminton and Racquet Club boasts itself on being more than just a recreational facility. It does offer tennis, squash, badminton, and racquet opportunities (plus more), but it also provides members with social events, guest speakers, a summer patio, and dining options to refuel between games.
